You're my KING

Queen’s song “You’re my best friend” is a out loud declaration of love from John Deacon (bass player) about his wife, Veronica Tetzlaff.  The lyrics say: Oh, you're the best friend
That I ever had
I've been with you such a long time
You're my sunshine
And I want you to know that my feelings are true
I really love you

When someone tells the world “This is my love” it is a moment of pure commitment.  This is saying out loud what they only know inside.  When a person is fully in love and confident in the relationship, they want to share this happiness with other people.  This acts like a line in the sand saying this person is taken and the relationship is exclusive.  This declaration transforms the relationship into something real.

Romans 10:9-10 states

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

We are to go from a thought to validating the relationship we have with God.  This tells us the moment it becomes real.  I am confident in the love of my savior; He died for my sins and is raised from the dead.  I want to share this happiness with other people.  I want to declare to the world “Jesus is Lord.”

Our mouth professes what is in our heart.  Luke 6:45 tells us “A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.”

The mouth speaks what the heart is full of.  Have you ever been around someone that is always lewd or immoral in the things they speak about?  Ever been around someone that is angry all the time or is constantly criticizing.  The core of that person – their heart – is full of bad.

Just like John Deacon  said to his wife: Ooh, you make me live
Whenever this world is cruel to me
I got you to help me forgive (Ooh-ooh)
Ooh, you make me live now, honey
Ooh, you make me live

Oh, you're the first one
When things turn out bad
You know, I'll never be lonely
You're my only one
And I love the things
I really love the things that you do

We can rely on God – his infinite love for us to help us forgive, to never be alone and we fully live.

Let us declare “Jesus is Lord”
